Corticosteroid in the treatment of hematologic disease

Abstract
Adrenoglucoids are effective in some kinds of hematologic diseases such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, leukemia, lymphoma, I.T.P. and allergic purpura. Use of corticosteroid in these diseases are empirical and administration of corticosteroid is neither etiological nor curative therapy but only palliative or ancillary therapy. All glucocorticoids appear to the similar in these action, when used in comparable dosage. Prednisone or prednisolone were commonly used because of relative freedom from undesirable side effects and low cost.
